The Norwegian Sawmill museum, Spillum Dampsag & Høvleri, is one of 14 national technical industrial heritages. A visit will take you back to the 1800s and you will see the machines that are still in operation.

The Petter Dass-museum at Alstahaug is The County of Nordland´s millennium site. The museum is dedicated to the heritage of the priest and poet Petter Dass. The highlight of 2020 will be the Petter Dass Event which is held between 11-14 June.

There is a miracle that occurs each March! This is when love-sick cod known as “skrei” arrive from the Barents Sea among the Vikna Archipelago on the Namdal Coast.
Herøy Rural Museum is idyllically situated in the old vicarage on the island Herøy just outside Sandnessjøen, near the ferry port Flostad. With view towards Dønnamannen and the Seven Sisters are the photo subjects here not hard to find.

Brestua is located at Svartisen in Meløy, norways second largest glacier. A great place for a view to Svartisen or a food stop before walking on to the glacier.
German fortress dating from World War II was built in 1941/42.
Langsanden Beach is more than 2 kilometres long, and is surely one of the largest sand beaches you will find here in Norway. The large-scale art project, “SALT” was executed here between 2014 and 2015
In the land-based exhibition centre, you can descend into the centre of a huge aquarium (over 10 metres in diameter). There you will be surrounded by salmon that are swimming around you in every direction.
In the beautiful landscape protection area of Øya / Langholmen at Inndyr, you can stroll along the shoreline in an area with significant botanical values.

Grønsvik Coastal Fortress is located right by the traffic hub of Stokkvågen in Lurøy municipality, about a 1-hour drive north of Nesna and 2.5 hours north of Sandnessjøen. Located along road 17 (Kystriksveien).
The Fykantrappa, or the Fykan stairway, are among one of Norways most awesome outdoor experiences. Tha stairway is located near Glomfjord in Meløy - in the Svartisen glacier area. The climb up the 1129 stairs take you to the top of the mountain Glomfjellet.

Skrøyvstadfossen is located along Skrøyvdalsvegen (Fv 776), 25 kilometers northwest of Høylandet in Mid-Norway (Trøndelag). Best time to visit is late spring/early summer or after a rainy period. The waterfall has a free fall of about 60 meters.
The Solstad area has traces of old settlement, probably all the way from the birth of Christ. The trail is suitable for those who want to go for a walk or hike, exercise, enjoy the view, or are curious about local history.

The Norwegian Jekt Trade Museum in Bodø takes you on board a voyage into the exciting history of maritime navigation and trade along the Norwegian coast. Our unique preserved Jekt Anna Karoline is the hub of our exhibition.

A detour from road 17 and to the island Sandhornøya and further on to Inndyr. A great choice if you want to experiences nature and culture / history. The highlights are Langsanden a 2 km long sandy beach and Gildeskål Old church.
The trade post was established in 1794 and is today a small and cosy museum in Ørnes in the Meløy region. Here you can enjoy a couple of interesting exhibitions as well as a nice cafe. The museum is located right next to Ørnes Hotel.
The best way to get to know Bodø is to visit the Bodø Town Museum (Bymuseet). The old and beautiful building from 1903 is situated right in the center. In addition to the permanent exhibition, the museum has changing exhibitions throughout the year.
The Bergh Brygga (wharft) is the heart of Leirfjord Museum. Travel back in time as you visit the old shop with original inventory and merchendise way past its "best before date". This museum will add flavour to your travels along Kystriksveien.

A small and cosy museum just 17 km off road 17 in Leirfjord. In this old wharft from 1870 you can visit the old shop and an interesting art exhibition. Wangbrygga is located along the river Bardalselva. This is a place to visit for local food.
Dønne's church at Dønna on the Helgeland coast has been named Northern Norway's most beautiful church. Here is Norway's most numerous mausoleum. The church is located close to Dønnes Gård. A tour of the church is something you should do while visiting Dønna.
